Old Rock House
Project
Create an identity for St. Louis’ newest music venue, eating and drinking place that embodied it’s history.
Solution
During the late 1800s, the Old Rock House was known from Minneapolis to New Orleans as one of the liveliest spots along the shores. The Old Rock House lives on again as an integrated music venue, eating and drinking place.
To celebrate the history of the building I chose to grunge up the type and made sure it looked properly aged. I chose a display type that echoes the windows along the front of the old building. Centering a guitar pick was just enough to bridge the gap of past and present and to reinforce that music is the heart of the place.
